Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny, little town that is a bit sleepy. A lot of people who aren't aware of the name mistakenly believe that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually it is it is the West Island includes everything westward from Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island, although this isn't the truth. Brugel was raised on Courtice located just outside Oshawa located in Ontario. She aspired to be a professional dancer but due to an explosive expansion, she surpassed every dance partner she met. In an article in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. Once I outgrew male partners and gave up, I decided to give up. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who shifted to acting. The teacher she had at high school was what pushed her to take the next step. It was the teacher who recommended she take on a part in the annual school production. She tried out and ended up playing the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000. Since then, Brugel's been performing in over 60 plays, big and small. Most notable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor during the season 1 of the series, and only seen occasionally.
